Schneewalzer

Climbing the classic 'Schneewalzer' (Grade 4) on Hochthron is a fantastic experience. This route offers enjoyable climbing on solid rock, with moderately challenging sections that are typically well-protected. The exposure is thrilling, and the views from the summit of Hochthron are absolutely breathtaking, spanning the surrounding peaks of the Berchtesgaden Alps. After soaking in the panorama, the descent typically involves a well-marked hiking trail, sometimes with some scrambling sections, leading back to the valley or a hut, completing a memorable day in the mountains.
