Climbing "Clou" (6-) on the Plombergstein is a classic Austrian experience. The route itself is typically well-bolted, making it a good choice for climbers comfortable leading at the grade. Expect sustained face climbing with some interesting holds and a rewarding view from the top. The rock is generally solid limestone. Due to its popularity, expect potential queues, especially on weekends. A quick descent is possible via abseiling or hiking down a marked trail.
