Climbing "Steig genau" (graded 8-/8) in the Vienna Woods was an experience that truly tested both my physical and mental strength. The route is known for its sustained difficulty and intricate sequences, demanding precision and unwavering focus from start to finish. The rock itself, characteristic of the Vienna Woods, felt solid and reliable underfoot, but offered few easy holds. Each move required careful consideration and commitment, often involving delicate footwork and powerful crimping. The exposure added to the intensity, with sweeping views of the surrounding forest serving as a constant reminder of the height. Reaching the top felt incredibly rewarding, a testament to the effort invested and the satisfying culmination of a challenging climb. It's a route I'd highly recommend to experienced climbers seeking a proper test in a beautiful natural setting.
