Our recent climbing adventure took us to the impressive Ausweichkogel to tackle the renowned 'Alpensalamander' route. Graded 5+, it's a fantastic example of a well-protected, enjoyable multi-pitch climb on solid limestone. The grade felt fair, offering a good challenge without being overly desperate. Each pitch offered breathtaking views and excellent exposure. The holds were generally positive, making for a very satisfying ascent. We encountered a mix of slab, vertical climbing, and even a slight overhang, keeping things interesting throughout. Reaching the top was incredibly rewarding, with panoramic vistas stretching across the surrounding alpine landscape. The descent involved a series of efficient abseils, followed by a pleasant walk back to the base, concluding a memorable day in the mountains.
