Tanz der kleinen Feen

Climbing "Tanz der kleinen Feen" (Dance of the Little Fairies), a 7+ graded route in the Dachstein Mountains, is an experience I won't soon forget. The route's name hints at its delicate and playful nature, but don't be fooled – this climb demands both power and precision. The rock is generally solid Dachstein limestone, offering a mix of crimps, pockets, and the occasional undercling. The crux sections require sustained effort, forcing you to commit to each move with confidence. The exposure is breathtaking, with stunning views of the surrounding peaks and valleys. Finding the right sequence through the intricate holds is crucial, and a good head for heights is definitely an asset. The sense of accomplishment upon reaching the top, having danced my way through this fairy tale climb, was immense.
