Climbing 'Wilder Herbert' (7-) on Hohe Wand is a truly rewarding experience. The route follows a steep, mostly vertical face with excellent, albeit sometimes polished, holds. The crux comes relatively early, demanding a powerful pull-through and precise footwork on the small crimps. After the crux, the climbing eases slightly, but remains consistently engaging with thoughtful sequences. The exposure is significant, adding to the overall thrill. Be prepared for a challenging, but ultimately satisfying climb that showcases the beautiful, exposed rock of Hohe Wand. A definite must-do for climbers operating at this grade.
