Rope Length: 70m

The Karwendel mountains are imposing, and 'Cheyenne' is one of its mythical routes. Graded 9-/9, it promised a serious challenge. We started early, the air crisp and cold, making our way to the impressive face. Each pitch of Cheyenne demanded full concentration. The lower sections were already engaging, but the real test came on the central crux pitches – a series of relentless finger cracks and technical slabs that seemed to float in the air. Exposure was immense, with the vast Karwendel panorama unfolding below. It was a battle of mind and body, pushing through the pump and the fear, relying on precise footwork and fingertip strength. Reaching the summit after hours of intense climbing was an incredible feeling of release and triumph. The views were breathtaking. The long rappels and the hike back to the valley under the setting sun completed an unforgettable day. 'Cheyenne' truly lives up to its reputation as a classic alpine test piece.
