Overview

Grade: 4

Length: 8m

Recently, I had the pleasure of climbing 'Hliněná cesta' (literally 'Clay Road') in the 'Levé stěny' (Left Walls) climbing area. This classic route, graded a solid 4 (UIAA scale), offers a pleasant introduction to climbing in this beautiful location. The rock is generally solid, although some sections, true to the name, can be a bit crumbly or covered in clay, especially after rain. The climbing itself is mostly face climbing with good holds, requiring a bit of forethought in foot placement. The exposure isn't extreme, making it a good choice for less experienced climbers looking for a more substantial climb than a beginner route. Overall, 'Hliněná cesta' is a satisfying and enjoyable climb that I would recommend to anyone looking for a moderate challenge in 'Levé stěny'. Make sure to check the weather conditions beforehand, as wet clay can make certain sections significantly more difficult and potentially dangerous.
