Our ascent of 'Vergessene Welt - Verlorener Turm' on the remote Lost Tower was an unforgettable odyssey. Graded 8, it presented a formidable challenge from the first moves. The approach alone was an adventure, traversing rugged terrain to reach the base of this imposing granite spire. Each pitch demanded precision and endurance, from delicate slab work to powerful crack climbing. The exposure grew with every meter, offering breathtaking views that served as both distraction and inspiration. The crux pitch, a sustained sequence of technical moves, tested our limits, but the camaraderie and focus pushed us through. Reaching the summit was a moment of profound triumph – a panoramic vista of an untouched wilderness, a silence broken only by the wind. It felt like standing on top of the world, having conquered a forgotten sentinel. The descent, a series of careful rappels, was as demanding in its own way, bringing us back to earth as dusk settled. Returning to camp, tired but exhilarated, we carried not just the fatigue of the climb, but the indelible memory of an epic ascent into a truly 'Forgotten World' – a testament to human spirit and the raw beauty of the Lost Tower.
