Overview

Grade: 4

The Megablok climbing area, often buzzing with activity, felt particularly inviting today. Our objective: 'Mezikus,' a Grade 4 route, famed for its accessibility and serving as a fantastic warm-up or an enjoyable beginner's ascent. Approaching the base, the route looked straightforward but engaging. The rock, solid and weathered, promised good friction.

The climb itself began with large, positive holds, allowing for confident upward movement. It was a pleasant rhythm of hands finding jugs and feet pressing against textured footholds. A short, gentle slab section midway required a slight shift in balance, testing coordination more than strength. Every move felt intuitive, a dance with the rock rather than a struggle.

Reaching the spacious top-out of Mezikus brought a quiet sense of satisfaction. The views over the surrounding landscape were rewarding, and the feeling of accomplishment, even on a lower-grade route, was pure. After a moment to soak it in, a simple walk-off descent led us back to the base, refreshed and ready for more.

Climbing Mezikus at Megablok was a beautiful reminder that the joy of climbing often lies not in the grade, but in the fluid movement, the connection with nature, and the simple pleasure of reaching a summit.
