It's raining again

Climbing "It's Raining Again" (Grade 7) in the Türnitzer Alps is an experience that etches itself into your memory. The route, aptly named, probably wasn't actually raining *during* my ascent (though knowing the Türnitzer Alps, anything is possible!), but the slick, polished limestone certainly felt like it. The exposure is considerable, adding a mental layer to the physical challenge. After the initial steepness eases slightly, the route continues with sustained, technical climbing. Reaching the anchors provides a huge sense of accomplishment, not just because of the difficulty, but also because of the stunning panoramic views of the surrounding alpine landscape.
