Kisses sweeter than wine

Climbing 'Kisses Sweeter Than Wine' in 'Unten im Wald Ost' is an experience I won't soon forget. The route itself is a masterpiece of crimps, slopers, and powerful, sustained movements. The grade of 8/8+ (French grading) felt accurate, demanding both physical strength and precise technique.

The initial section forces you to find creative solutions on small holds, requiring excellent footwork and body positioning. A crux sequence in the middle demanded a powerful lock-off and a dynamic reach to a distant hold. After that, the route continues relentlessly, not giving you much chance to rest. Managing your stamina is crucial as the final moves require you to pull hard on seemingly impossible holds, all while the pump is setting in.

The atmosphere in 'Unten im Wald Ost' added to the experience. The surrounding forest provided a beautiful backdrop, and the feeling of being immersed in nature while pushing your limits was incredible. Successfully topping out 'Kisses Sweeter Than Wine' felt like a significant accomplishment, a testament to hard work and perseverance. It's a route I highly recommend to any experienced climber looking for a challenging and rewarding climb.
