Climbing '9 Z' at Untere Wand is a classic route, a good introduction to the grade 6- in this area. The route follows a mostly obvious line up the face, with generally solid rock and well-placed bolts. The crux comes probably halfway up with a slightly overhanging section that requires good footwork and a powerful pull. Above that, the climbing eases off and becomes more sustained at around grade 5. The views from the top are a welcome reward for the effort. A recommended climb for those looking to push their grade or experience a typical Untere Wand route at this level.
