Climbing 'Malaysian Girl' (grade 8-) in the stunning Upper Austrian Prealps was an unforgettable experience. This challenging sport climbing route, set against a backdrop of picturesque limestone cliffs, truly put my skills to the test. The grade 8- felt accurate, requiring a blend of precise footwork, delicate balance, and dynamic power on often-small holds. Each move was a puzzle, demanding focus and commitment, especially through the cruxes. The exposure grew with every meter gained, offering increasingly spectacular views of the surrounding alpine landscape. Reaching the anchors, with the sun on my face and the panoramic vista of the Prealps stretching out below, was an incredibly rewarding moment. 'Malaysian Girl' stands out as a true gem, offering a fantastic blend of challenging climbing and breathtaking scenery in one of Austria's most beautiful regions.
