Rope Length: 60m

Climbing "Moorhuhnjagd" (grade 8) in the Upper Austrian Prealps was a true test of skill and endurance. The route is known for its sustained difficulty, demanding precise footwork and powerful crimping. The compact, slightly overhanging limestone provided minimal respite, forcing constant engagement. The mental game was just as important as the physical; staying focused and calm amidst the exposure was key to success. Reaching the anchor felt incredibly rewarding, not just for completing the climb, but also for overcoming the challenge the Upper Austrian Prealps had laid out. The stunning views from the top served as a perfect reminder of why I love climbing.
