Rope Length: 70m

The Upper Austrian Prealps, a region of rugged beauty, offer a plethora of climbing challenges. Our objective: 'Solaris,' a demanding 8- (UIAA) route that has made a name for itself in the local climbing scene. It's renowned for its sustained technical climbing on sharp limestone, often with intricate sequences of crimps and pockets. The route snakes its way up a prominent face, offering breathtaking exposure and panoramic views of the surrounding alpine landscape.

Each pitch presented its own unique puzzle. The crux pitch, a slightly overhanging section, demanded every ounce of strength and precision, feeling like a dance on the vertical. The sun, living up to the route's name, warmed the rock, making the grippy limestone even more tactile. The mental game was as crucial as the physical, pushing through moments of doubt, relying on solid placements and smooth movement.

Reaching the anchors at the top, a wave of exhilaration and relief washed over us. The vista was incredible – rolling hills, deep valleys, and distant peaks bathed in the afternoon light. It was a true testament to dedication and the joy of movement in such a grand setting. 'Solaris' isn't just a climb; it's an experience that etches itself into your memory, a perfect blend of physical challenge and natural splendor in the heart of Austria.
