Climbing 'Ferata Jerm´n', graded D/E, is an exceptionally challenging and exhilarating experience, ranking it among the most demanding via ferratas in the Julian Alps, near Mojstrana, Slovenia. This route is characterized by its extreme verticality and significant exposure, requiring immense physical strength and mental fortitude. Expect numerous sections that are entirely vertical or even slightly overhanging, relying heavily on arm strength to pull yourself up using steel cables and artificial stirrups. The 'D/E' grading signifies long, continuous sections with very few natural footholds, demanding sustained effort and a strong head for heights. Successfully completing 'Ferata Jerm´n' is a profound test of both physical prowess and psychological resilience. The reward, however, is immense: an unparalleled sense of accomplishment coupled with breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding peaks and valleys. Due to its advanced difficulty, proper via ferrata equipment (helmet, harness, via ferrata set) is absolutely essential, and prior experience on difficult routes is highly recommended. The descent typically follows an easier, marked path.
