Climbing 'Karabore' (6) on the Stup pillar of Anića kuk in Paklenica National Park is a classic experience for any climber visiting this renowned Croatian climbing area. The route is a well-protected and relatively accessible introduction to the multi-pitch climbing that Anića kuk is famous for. While graded 6, its sustained nature and the exposure of the Stup pillar demand respect.

Typical climbs involve starting early to beat the heat and crowds. The approach to the Stup pillar itself is fairly straightforward. 'Karabore' offers a variety of climbing styles, from slabby sections to enjoyable cracks and corners. The rock is generally solid limestone, though some polish is to be expected given the route's popularity.

Crucially, good rope management is essential on this multi-pitch climb. Belay stances are generally comfortable, but communication between climber and belayer is paramount, especially on windy days. The views from the route are spectacular, offering a panoramic perspective of the Paklenica gorge and the surrounding Velebit mountains. Finishing the climb brings a sense of accomplishment, having tackled a significant route on one of Croatia's most iconic rock faces.
