Wadi Rum

The 'Wadi Rum' route in the Bucklige Welt is a challenging 7+ (UIAA) climb and a true highlight for experienced climbers. Named after the iconic Jordanian desert, this multi-pitch route offers surprisingly similar characteristics: long slabs, exposed traverses, and sometimes run-out sections that demand solid nerve and technical proficiency. The rock quality, often solid limestone, provides good friction, but the route's sustained nature and its significant length make it a full-day commitment. The panoramic views over the Bucklige Welt landscape from the top are a well-deserved reward for the strenuous ascent.
