Climbing the Schillerkamin on Weningerturm, Hohe Wand, is an iconic experience for any climber tackling routes of grade V- (UIAA). This classic ascent is renowned for its distinctive chimney sections, giving the route its name ('Kamin' means chimney). Starting from the base of the Weningerturm, the Schillerkamin weaves its way up the limestone, offering varied climbing that demands good technique and a confident approach. While the V- grade might suggest a moderate challenge, the route requires thoughtful movement and can feel exposed in parts. It's a fantastic introduction to the character of Hohe Wand climbing, rewarding climbers with increasingly expansive views across the landscape as they ascend. Reaching the summit of Weningerturm via Schillerkamin provides a true sense of accomplishment, making it a highly recommended and memorable climb.
