Our recent ascent of 'Sakra Tatra' (Grade 3) on the majestic 'Hora' was a truly memorable experience. Despite its formidable name, the route proved to be a delightful and engaging scramble, perfect for honing our climbing skills. The day began with a crisp mountain breeze as we approached the base. The rock, a sturdy granite, offered consistently positive handholds and solid footholds throughout the Grade 3 sections, making for confident and enjoyable progress. We navigated a series of well-defined ledges and short, vertical steps, each offering a little more exposure and increasingly panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. The summit provided a breathtaking vista, a well-deserved reward for our efforts. The descent was a straightforward walk-off, allowing us to fully appreciate the serene beauty of 'Hora' as the sun began to dip. A thoroughly rewarding day out on the rock.
