Climbing 'CRISI', a challenging grade 8 in the Lake Garda Mountains, is an experience etched in my memory. The sheer limestone face, sculpted by centuries of weather, presented a relentless series of powerful moves and technical cruxes. The crux section, a seemingly blank wall punctuated by minuscule crimps and desperate smears, demanded precision and unwavering commitment. Finding the subtle body positioning, linking the barely-there holds, felt like solving a complex physical puzzle. The exposure was breathtaking; the turquoise waters of Lake Garda stretched out below, a dazzling panorama that both inspired and intimidated. Even with perfect conditions – cool air and sticky rubber – the climb required absolute focus and a deep reservoir of physical and mental strength. Reaching the anchor, finally, was a wave of immense relief and profound satisfaction. 'CRISI' is more than just a route; it's a test of will, a dance with gravity, and an unforgettable journey into the heart of the Garda landscape.
