Climbing "Ulknudel" (grade 7-) on the "Lausbubenpfeiler" is a delightful experience. This route, despite its whimsical name (roughly translated to "Funny Noodle" in German), presents a sustained and engaging challenge. The rock on the Lausbubenpfeiler is generally excellent, offering good friction and plenty of positive holds. "Ulknudel" itself is characterized by a mix of face climbing and stemming moves, requiring a good balance of technique and strength. Expect some delicate footwork and thoughtful sequences, especially through the crux. Protection is generally good, allowing for confident progression. The satisfaction of topping out on this climb is amplified by the panoramic views afforded from the Lausbubenpfeiler. A must-do for anyone climbing in the area at this grade!
