Overview

Grade: 7

Climbing 'Rukojeť' (grade 7) in 'Pánev' was a memorable experience. The crux move, a powerful pull on the small, sharp handhold that gives the route its name (literally 'Handle'), demanded precise footwork and unwavering commitment. The rock, typical of 'Pánev', offered excellent friction, but the holds were often quite small and unforgiving. After the crux, a series of easier, but still technical, moves led to the top. The overall feel of the route was one of sustained difficulty, requiring both physical strength and mental fortitude. Successfully clipping the chains at the top felt like a well-earned victory.
