Ascending the 'Paracarro Nordwand' (North Face of Paracarro) in the charming, yet perhaps lesser-known, Paraccaro region, is an absolute delight for climbers seeking a classic, accessible multi-pitch experience. Graded at 3+, this route offers surprisingly varied and engaging climbing without demanding extreme technical prowess.

The approach often involves a pleasant, winding path through alpine meadows, leading to the foot of the impressive, albeit friendly, Nordwand. The climbing itself consists of a series of well-protected pitches, featuring everything from solid slabs with excellent friction to short, enjoyable crack systems and positive arêtes. Each pitch builds anticipation, leading to increasingly panoramic vistas of the surrounding valleys and distant peaks.

Reaching the summit of Paraccaro via its Nordwand feels genuinely rewarding. The exposure is just enough to remind you you're on a mountain, yet the climbing remains comfortable and fun. The views from the top are spectacular, offering a bird's-eye perspective of the entire Paraccaro range. The descent, typically a straightforward walk-off or a couple of short rappels, allows for reflection on a perfect day out.

'Paracarro Nordwand' is a highly recommended route for those looking to enjoy beautiful scenery, develop multi-pitch skills, or simply experience a truly classic and enjoyable moderate climb.
