Climbing "Doctor Scintilla" on the Piz Ciavazes Northwest Face (Nordwestwand) is an experience etched in memory. Rated 7- (French grading), the route presents a sustained challenge of technical climbing on generally solid but sometimes surprisingly polished dolomite. The route finding demands careful observation and good route-reading skills, as the features aren't always immediately obvious.
