Climbing 'First Love Affair' (grade VII) on the majestic Prossetwand was an unforgettable experience. This route, true to its name, offered a challenging yet deeply satisfying engagement with the rock. The limestone face, typical of the Austrian Alps, presented a beautiful sequence of crimps, pockets, and a few technical slab sections that demanded precision and focus. Each move felt like a dance, a delicate negotiation between strength and balance. The cruxes were exhilarating, pushing my limits but always rewarding with better holds or a clearer path ahead. Reaching the top, with the breathtaking panorama of the surrounding valleys, was a moment of pure triumph and connection. It truly felt like a 'first love' – a profound bond with the vertical world, leaving me longing for the next ascent.
