Climbing 'Hotel zum See' on the majestic Scheibenwaldhöhe East Wall was an unforgettable experience. This classic route, graded 4, offers a fantastic blend of exposed yet forgiving climbing on solid rock. The approach winds through a beautiful forest before leading to the impressive base of the wall. The climb itself was a pure joy, with well-defined holds and varied terrain, from slabs to short crack sections, providing sustained but never overly strenuous movement. As we ascended, the views became increasingly spectacular, culminating in a breathtaking panorama of the serene lake far below, living up perfectly to the route's name. Reaching the summit brought a great sense of accomplishment, rewarded by the expansive vistas. The descent was straightforward, following a well-marked path, allowing us to reflect on a truly rewarding day of climbing.
