Climbing "Schee Steil" (grade 8) in the Schneekar Wasserfallwand is an experience etched in my memory. The name itself, "Schee Steil" meaning "Beautifully Steep," is a perfect description. The Schneekar Wasserfallwand is a striking wall, and this route climbs right through the heart of its verticality. The rock is solid limestone, often polished smooth by the constant flow of water, making foot placements delicate and demanding.

The crux move, near the top, involved a powerful dyno to a small, crimpy hold, followed by a desperate lock-off to establish on a sloping shelf. It felt like I was pulling myself through gravity itself. Before that, the sustained nature of the climb kept you constantly engaged, thinking about your next move, conserving energy, and trusting your feet. The exposure was breathtaking, with the valley stretching out below and the remnants of the frozen waterfall clinging to the rock. Reaching the top felt like a true victory, a testament to both physical strength and mental fortitude. The feeling of accomplishment, combined with the sheer beauty of the surroundings, made "Schee Steil" a climb I won't soon forget. It's a route that tests your limits and rewards you with an unforgettable experience.
