Equinox (7-) in Settore Centrale is a superb multi-pitch route that offers an excellent challenge for the intermediate climber. Graded 7- (UIAA), this classic ascent typically spans three to four pitches, weaving its way up quality limestone. The climbing is diverse, featuring delicate technical slabs, sections of crimpy face, and occasionally a short, engaging crack. While the rock is generally solid and offers good friction, some older fixed protection exists, requiring climbers to supplement with their own traditional gear for optimal safety and a fuller experience. The crux often lies in a sustained vertical section, demanding precision and endurance. Settore Centrale itself is renowned for its south-facing walls, making 'Equinox' an ideal objective on cooler days, basking in the sun. The views from the upper pitches are breathtaking, overlooking the surrounding landscape. A memorable climb concluded by rappelling back down.
