From the moment you commit to the first technical moves, you understand what's in store. The rock at U bukovky, often weathered and intricate, demands precise foot placements and a keen eye for subtle features. As you traverse, the pump builds steadily in your forearms – a constant, nagging reminder of the sustained effort required. There are sections where you find yourself letting out actual sighs: sighs of exertion as you pull through a particularly tricky sequence, sighs of focus as you contort your body to reach a distant hold, and perhaps even sighs of frustration when a move doesn't come easily.
The exposure on the traverse adds to the excitement, with the ground feeling increasingly distant beneath you. It's a beautiful battle, where every muscle fiber is engaged, and the mind is solely focused on the next sequence. Reaching the anchors, the feeling of accomplishment is immense, coupled with a deep, satisfying sigh of relief. 'Traverz vzdechů' is more than just a climb; it's a profound physical and mental conversation with the rock, a truly memorable test piece.
