Climbing Variant E of the Stoderzinken Klettersteige Klettersteigpark offers a delightful and moderately challenging via ferrata experience in Styria, Austria. Graded B/C, this route strikes a good balance, making it accessible to those with some prior via ferrata experience while still providing exciting and exposed sections.
The B/C grading means you can expect generally vertical sections, good exposure at times, and requiring sustained arm strength for shorter pitches. It's an excellent choice for intermediate climbers looking to push beyond pure beginner routes without tackling extreme difficulties. As part of the Klettersteigpark, Variant E is typically well-secured with fixed steel cables, iron rungs, and possibly some ladders or traverses, ensuring a safe ascent.
Climbers will be rewarded with fantastic panoramic views of the surrounding Dachstein massif and Ennstal valley. Standard via ferrata equipment (helmet, harness, via ferrata set) is essential. The ascent usually takes a couple of hours, followed by a scenic hiking descent back to the starting point. It's a rewarding climb for an active day in the beautiful Austrian Alps.
