Climbing the Via Ferrata Lacs Robert (grade B) was an incredibly scenic and enjoyable experience. This route is perfectly suited for those looking for an accessible yet rewarding mountain adventure. The 'B' grading accurately reflects its character: while there are steep sections and some exposure, these are very well-protected by robust steel cables and ample artificial aids like rungs and ladders. It never felt overly technical or strenuous, allowing us to fully appreciate the stunning alpine views that unfolded with every meter gained. The highlight was undoubtedly the breathtaking panorama, especially the shimmering Lacs Robert nestled below in the rugged landscape. The fresh mountain air and the sense of accomplishment at each viewpoint were truly invigorating.
After reaching the highest point of the ferrata, the return journey typically involves a pleasant descent along a well-marked hiking trail. This path offered a different perspective of the area, winding through picturesque alpine meadows and rocky sections, eventually leading us back towards the starting point or a nearby mountain hut. It was a wonderful way to unwind and reflect on the day's climbing adventure, amidst the serene beauty of the French Alps. Overall, the Via Ferrata Lacs Robert (B) is highly recommended for its perfect balance of thrill, safety, and spectacular natural beauty.
