The Hochjoch Klettersteig in Schruns, Montafon, is a thrilling via ferrata experience rated C, offering a fantastic blend of alpine challenge and breathtaking scenery. Easily accessible via the Hochjochbahn cable car, the climb begins just a short walk from the top station, making it convenient for a half-day adventure.
The route itself is characterized by its significant exposure and some demanding vertical sections, securely protected by steel ropes, pegs, and occasional ladders. While graded C, it requires a good head for heights and some arm strength, making it an excellent choice for intermediate climbers or confident beginners looking to push their limits beyond grade B. As you ascend, you're continuously rewarded with spectacular panoramic views across the Montafon valley, the Silvretta, and Rätikon mountain ranges. The feeling of accomplishment upon reaching the summit cross is immense.
After conquering the Klettersteig, the descent back to the cable car station is straightforward, allowing you to reflect on an unforgettable alpine adventure. It's a superb, relatively short, but intense route that delivers big on views and excitement.
