Citymonkey Boulderhalle

Permanently closed

Citymonkey in Essen was one of Germany's oldest commercial bouldering gyms, open from 3 April 2004. It closed after almost twenty years — kletterszene.com reported the closure in October 2023 ("Nach fast 20 Jahren schließt das Citymonkey seine Tore"), theCrag lists it as closed, and the citymonkey.de domain no longer belongs to the gym. This record is kept for reference only; the gym can no longer be visited.
