Tisá – the Tisá Walls (Tiské stěny) – is a rock town just north of the village of Tisá. At the edge of the sandstone plateau a line of south-facing walls rises up to 70 m, looking out over the Bohemian Central Uplands, with a maze of towers, gaps and narrow passages behind it. It is popular with hikers and climbers alike, and the climbing tradition here goes back more than a century. climbing.place lists over 2,900 routes.
Expect bold climbing on pockets, edges and cracks with a few rings per route. Short approaches and a wide range of grades make Tisá a good choice for both newcomers to sandstone and experienced climbers.

Rules
The ČHS rules for climbing in Bohemian sandstone areas apply.
- Chalk is banned.
- No metal protection (cams, nuts, pitons) – only slings, knots and textile "UFOs" between the rings.
- Climb on dry rock only – wet sandstone softens and breaks.
- Do not alter the rock surface.
- Abseil from the summit rings.
Parts of the area lie in Bohemian Switzerland National Park and the Elbe Sandstones Protected Landscape Area, where seasonal closures for nesting birds apply. Check the ČHS crag database before you go.
