The Blechmauer on the Rax side of the Höllental is known for some of the best rock in the Rax-Schneeberg area. Its most famous line is the Blechmauernverschneidung (6, about 220 m), first climbed in 1930 and recently renovated: after a scrambling start it follows a long, partly exposed corner system. Alongside it are harder modern routes up to Gott Kupfer (9+), as well as moderate lines such as the Malaga-Steig or King-Kong-Karl.
The approach from the Höllental takes about 25 minutes; the Weichtalhaus is the traditional base.
Part of Rax-Schneeberg Group, Blechmauer has 11 routes documented on climbing.place. Routes range from grade 5- to 9+. Routes are listed below with grade, style, and community notes.
Often climbed in April, May, June.
