The main part of the Jizera Mountains offers more than 3,200 granite routes at 11 locations. The largest are Stržový vrch and Kopřivník, Malý and Velký Štolpich, Srázy and Poledník, Polední kameny and Hlídači, Rudolfov, Tišina and Smrk, and Paličník. The climbing is mostly traditional on vertical walls with fixed protection and your own cams, graded from 1 to 12.

  • Chalk is allowed only from grade VIIIb (Jizera scale).

Climbing in the Jizera Mountains PLA is governed by Order No. 200/1999 and OOP No. 4/2021. In zone 1 climbing off marked trails is banned except on the traditional crags listed in the OOP annex; in zone 2 climbing is allowed on all rock objects, but bouldering is not. Check the ČHS crag database.
