Climbing at Pavlov Hills

166 routes
2 areas
2–10- grades

The Pavlov Hills in southern Moravia on the Austrian border are limestone hills in the Pálava Protected Landscape Area (declared 19 March 1976, 83 km², highest point Děvín at 550 m), a UNESCO biosphere reserve since 1986, extended in 2003 to include the Lednice–Valtice Cultural Landscape. Climbing is in two groups of crags – Skupina Trůnu and Martinka with Obří kámen.

The climbing is mostly traditional with fixed protection and your own cams, often in the shade. The whole area is protected, so climbing follows the conditions of the Pálava PLA administration – check current restrictions with the Czech Mountaineering Association before visiting.

Part of South Moravia, Pavlov Hills has 166 routes documented on climbing.place. Routes range from grade 2 to 10-. Explore its 2 crags and sectors below.

Common styles: Rock Climbing, Friends, Route in shadow, Fixed belay, Traditional Climbing.

Rules

Climbing ban from 1 January to 14 August for nature conservation. Check the current status in the ČHS crag database.

The ČHS rules for Czech rock areas apply. New routes only with the approval of the ČHS South Moravia regional commission.
