Im Schatten des Sequoia

Climbing "Im Schatten des Sequoia" (8-) at Almfrieden was an experience I won't soon forget. The route is a beautiful test of technical skill and power endurance. The initial moves are surprisingly delicate, requiring precise footwork and a good understanding of body positioning. The crux, for me, involved a powerful sequence through a small overhang, demanding strong fingers and core strength. Finding the right sequence was key. After that, the route eases slightly, but the sustained nature keeps you honest until the very end. The setting at Almfrieden is stunning, adding to the overall appeal of the climb. A hard-fought 8- that felt well-earned!
