Climbing "Sterilní hnus" (grade 7-, UIAA VII-) in the Arboretum climbing area is a deceptively tricky experience. Its name, meaning "Sterile Disgust" or "Sterile Nuisance," often evokes a chuckle, but the route itself is anything but sterile in terms of challenge. It typically features technical moves on small, often polished limestone holds, demanding precise footwork, excellent balance, and strong finger strength. The lower grade doesn't diminish its reputation as a proper test piece, requiring focus and determination to navigate its subtle sequences. Despite the somewhat off-putting name, successfully sending "Sterilní hnus" delivers a profound sense of accomplishment amidst the often serene natural setting of the Arboretum.
