The "Via Rosmarie" on the Ciampanil de Val is a classic multi-pitch climbing route, graded 5+ (UIAA), offering a quintessential high-mountain experience in the heart of the Dolomites. This route ascends the striking tower of Ciampanil de Val, known for its superb quality limestone. Climbers can expect varied pitches, ranging from delightful slabs with excellent friction to more vertical sections with positive holds.
While generally well-protected for its grade, it's advisable to carry a small rack of traditional gear (cams, nuts) to supplement the fixed anchors and ensure a secure ascent. The exposure on the upper pitches is thrilling, and the panoramic views from the summit are simply breathtaking, encompassing the majestic surrounding Dolomitic peaks. Descent is typically by rappelling. The "Via Rosmarie" is a highly recommended climb that perfectly combines the joy of movement on excellent rock with the awe-inspiring grandeur of the high mountains, truly earning its reputation as a classic.
