From the left side of the bivouac overhang, up a vertical slab along a piton, a rivet to a wedged block (sling), and from there traverse right. To 2 pitons of the 'First of May' route. Diagonally down along the flake to a ledge and down to the ring. Up the gully/chimney to a small platform to a prominent flake, and up the gully/chimney to its end. Traverse down and via a loose indentation/niche to the summit.
