Climbing 'Die Daltons - Rauchtalplatte' (grade 5-) on Grosser Beilstein is a truly delightful experience. This classic route offers excellent slab climbing, characterized by friction moves and a need for precise footwork. While graded 5- (UIAA), it's not to be underestimated, requiring good balance and confidence on the relatively smooth rock. The 'Rauchtalplatte' itself provides a sustained and enjoyable challenge. As you ascend, you're rewarded with fantastic panoramic views of the surrounding area. It's a superb moderate climb, perfect for honing slab technique and fully enjoying the mountain environment.
