The Dimai/Eötvös route on the South Face of Grohmannspitze is a true classic in the Dolomites. Graded at IV (UIAA), this climb offers a fantastic alpine experience. Ascending the Südwand, climbers can expect varied climbing on excellent Dolomitic limestone, featuring a mix of cracks, slabs, and chimneys. While not extreme, the grade IV demands solid multi-pitch climbing skills and a good head for heights, as many pitches are exposed. The route is celebrated for its historical significance and the breathtaking panoramic views of the Sella Group and surrounding Dolomites. It's a rewarding ascent, culminating in a spectacular summit, followed by an often equally engaging descent, making it a memorable day out in the high mountains.
