Via Lunatico

Our ascent of 'Via Lunatico' on the 'Grüne Rettenwand' was an unforgettable experience. Graded V (UIAA), this route offers classic Alpine climbing with stunning views. The approach itself sets the scene, leading to the base of the impressive green-tinged wall. The climbing on 'Via Lunatico' is varied, moving from steep slabs to exposed face climbing, with excellent rock quality throughout. Each of the pitches presented its own unique challenge and beauty, demanding solid technique and a steady head, especially on the more exposed sections. Reaching the top offered breathtaking panoramic views, a well-deserved reward after a great climb. The descent involved a series of efficient rappels down the route, allowing us to admire the wall from a different perspective as we made our way back to the valley floor. 'Via Lunatico' is a highly recommended route for anyone looking for a rewarding mid-grade climb in a beautiful setting.
