Rope Length: 50m

Our recent adventure in the Gutenstein Alps took an unusual turn. Instead of scaling a classic rock face, we tackled the exterior of the Bavaria Restaurant, a climb graded at 4+. The route, surprisingly engaging for a building, involved navigating sturdy drainpipes, window ledges, and well-placed architectural features. The 4+ grade felt accurate – it required careful hand and foot placement, especially around the more exposed sections near the roofline. From the top, the panoramic views of the Gutenstein Alps were breathtaking, a truly unique perspective. It was a bizarre blend of urban climbing and alpine scenery. The descent was a controlled downclimb, just as thrilling as the ascent. An unforgettable and somewhat quirky climbing experience, proving that adventure can be found in the most unexpected places. Afterwards, a well-deserved traditional Austrian meal inside felt even better!
