Climbing 'Fegefeuer' (Purgatory) in the Gutenstein Alps is a rewarding experience for intermediate climbers. Rated at grade 6 (UIAA), it offers a challenging but manageable route with a good mix of technical climbing and physical endurance. Expect exposed sections, crimpy holds, and potentially some route-finding challenges. The rock is generally solid limestone, but as always in the Alps, be aware of loose rock, especially after rain.
