Climbing the "Rissal" route (grade 3) on Hausstein is a fantastic experience for beginner to intermediate climbers. The route primarily follows a prominent crack system (the "Riss") which offers ample opportunities for placing protection. The rock is generally solid, and the climbing is mostly straightforward, demanding technique rather than brute strength. While not overly exposed, the ascent provides a good sense of accomplishment and impressive views from Hausstein. It's a classic route and a great introduction to alpine climbing in the area. Proper gear and experience with placing protection are, of course, essential.
