Úzký komín

Our target in Hlavní sektor was the classic grade 3 route, 'Úzký komín' – the 'Narrow Chimney.' Approaching the base, the imposing rock face hinted at the adventure within. The start of the chimney felt like stepping into another world, a cool, shadowed passage. True to its name, it quickly narrowed, demanding classic chimney techniques: a delicate dance of stemming with feet and pushing with the back, or using opposing forces on knees and hands. It wasn't technically difficult (as expected for a Grade 3), but the confined space and the need for constant, deliberate movement made it an engaging physical puzzle. The darkness inside was punctuated by the light from above, beckoning us upwards. Emerging onto the sunlit summit felt incredibly rewarding, offering expansive views and a deep sense of accomplishment. 'Úzký komín' truly lives up to its reputation as an iconic, enjoyable climb in Hlavní sektor, perfect for honing traditional climbing skills.
